The Company of Biologists is a not-for-profit publishing organisation dedicated to supporting and inspiring the biological community. Run by distinguished practising scientists, they exist to profit science, inspiring new thinking and support the community of biologists.
Project overview
We were asked to collaborate with our technical partner JLS IT Consultants to provide the design for the Company of Biologist’s new enterprise: preLights.
preLights is a new website that highlights preprints hand-selected by the preLights community who are early-career researchers. We developed the User Interface, the User Experience and design. The project has proven to be very successful and met all of its objectives.
A thumbs up from the client and the preLights users
The client was extremely happy with the fresh bold approach taken on this project, as it still feels like it belongs to the CoB family of websites yet stands alone.
User engagement started and continues to be high and the ease of use and the clean presentation cited as key contributing factor to the number of active users.
